Maria S. Gjems-Onstad

(born in 1949)
is an Acem Meditation Instructor and works as a Clinical Psychologist in private practice. She learnt to meditate in 1970 and became an instructor in 1971, a teacher of communication groups in 1974 and an initiator of Acem meditation in 1977. During these years she has taught meditation, communication and relationship skills in numerous groups in many countries. She and fifteen other initiators constitute the leadership in Acem.
Professionally she runs groups for psychologists who want to go into spesialization.
She is married with four children and lives in Oslo.
