Doing work for Acem

Acem depends on voluntary work. Do you want to contribute? As an Acem volunteer, you may help in organising meetings, disseminating information, and doing a variety of other practical tasks.

If you wish to combine practical tasks with pedagogical involvement, you may apply for participation in Acem's training programme. There are three successive levels of training:

1. Introducer training (in some countries called moderator training) combines practical work with basic training in one type of pedagogical task, such as introductory talks on Acem Meditation or study groups for local meditators.

2. Assistant instructor training combines practical and administrative work with more extensive training in the teaching of Acem Meditation and the psychology of meditation at beginner's courses and follow-up courses, always in collaboration with experienced instructors.

3. Full instructor training aims at a more comprehensive and independent responsibility for the teaching of Acem Meditation and the psychology of meditation, as well as for the running of the Acem organisation.

The time each level of training takes varies from country to country. While introducer training may often be completed within a few weeks, assistant instructor training takes at least one or two years, and the same is true of full instructor training.

If you have questions, please contact initiator Eva Skaar.
